TP-LINK TL-SG1005D 5-Port Gigabit Desktop Switch is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great, easy set-up Nice looking form-factor. Runs pretty cool. Simple Setup: Plug in power cord. Plug in cables. Done. Operation: LED light indicates Power LED light for 1-5 ports light up when connected. Flicker when data is transfering LED is green, doesn't change color for different speeds, so you won't know if your equipment is connected at 10/100/1000. The product doesn't come with any ethernet cables, you will need to provide your own. This does everything you would expect in a desktop switch. Would recommend this for anyone that needs a 5-port switch. Disclaimer: Submitted as part of a free sample program

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why would you not want to save money?? "Submitted as part of a free sample program" This is just no basic switch , its fast and easy to setup like the rest. But the efficiency of the unit makes it my top pick in the 5 port desktop switch category. Runs flawless and does not need rebooting like other brands. This thing is small fits in the palm of your hand. Best bang for your buck on this one! TP-Link wins again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding performance. Easy setup. Inexpensive. This is a review of a free demo unit received from TP-LINK, for testing and feedback, as part of their review program. Submitted as part of a free sample program. The TL-SG1005D is TP-LINK's least expensive Switch. While bargain priced, this Switch works well & is very easy to install. Just connect any port on the Switch to any Router port, & everything works correctly. It doesn't matter which Switch port & Router port are connected. Entirely plug & play. No configuration or settings are required. The configuration & optimization are automatic. The Switch's auto negotiation senses the device link speed on each port to intelligently optimize port speed for compatibility & performance. The unit is black, aerodynamically sleek, with rounded corners, and is at version 6. Looks elegant & well made. The Switch is small, 5.5 x 3.5 x 0.9 inches, & lightweight. It's designed to sit horizontally on a desktop or be wall mounted, via 2 cutouts on the back. When laid horizontally, there are 4 small plastic feet on the bottom but they are not rubberized & don't do much to prevent slippage. Repositioning a long heavy RJ45 cable can cause the Switch to shift a little. Stick-on rubber pads can easily be added. On the back of the Switch are five 10/100/1000Mbps RJ45 Ethernet ports. Since connecting the Switch uses up a port on the Switch & one on the Router, this Switch gains you an additional 4 Ethernet Ports (not 5). The Switch was compatible with all my 10, 100 & 1000 Mbps devices. It conforms to IEEE 802.1X standards, flow control provides reliable data transfer, & was compatible with everything I threw at it. Six small green LED's are on the front. A power LED, & an LED for each port. For port LED's: On= Connected, Flashing= Transmitting/Receiving, Off= Not Connected. The port LED's are always green; they do not change color with different speeds. ThinkPad laptops connected to the Switch have OOKLA speed test results (with TWC) of Download=234Mbps, Upload=23Mbps, Ping=7ms.
